My car got broken into in Kendals King street car park at 10.30pm. They have patrols, cameras, and electronic entry gates, they also charge 18 for a day. The car park attendant was most unhelful, when I said that I had been broken into, commenting defensively that it was alright when he looked earlier. Which didn't change the fact it was now in bits. I asked to see the CCTV, to which he replied it was broken. He made me fill in a form which I wasn't given a copy of which basically was to cover his admin. There was a huge sign on the ticket entry gate to say it was broken and just push to enter. The police commented that it was grossly negligent on the part of NCP hence I made a claim against them for the excess on my policy, to which they replied that their car parks aren't safe and that customers shouldn't labour under the misaprehension that they are - customers are simply paying for the space! Under these proposed guidelines King street would get the coveted safe parking sticker when nothing could be further from the truth! Elizabeth Clark |
