Le Figaro Rants

Published on August 24th 2005.

In response to our fabulous offer for tasters to try out the new Le Figaro restaurant, we've had the following feedback. For more information on Le Figaro, please click here.We visit Le Figaros in Aberystwyth regularly - we thoroughly recommend this restaurant and looking forward to visiting Le Figaro in Manchester.Pam TaylorJust a quick email after eating at Le Figaro for the first time a few week ago and then reading your write up on the restaurant review page today.I gotta tell you, garlic mushrooms followed by salmon that was soooooooo fresh, it looked like it had been special delivery straight from the dockside!!! and tasted just as superb followed by a tall latte (i ducked out on the puds), takes some beating. The hospitality of Jane and Mike was fantastic and made a restaurant environment so much less stuffed shirt that you actually relaxed and enjoyed the food!! Anyway Gordo, glad to see you're supporting them and tell Emma of the metro to give these guys a break!!Sharon, ChamberlinkJust thought Sunset Estates would drop you a line to tell you what a fantastice meal we had @ Le Figaro ( over Sam's Chop House ) last week. The food was fabulous and Jayne & Mike were extremely helful !! Our ratings 9/10. Our night was made even more enjoyable as we shared it with Ray Winstone, Suranne Jones and a crowd from Granada ! Joanne MolloyThank you to Manchester Confidential, Mike and Jane Fisher for an excellent meal at Le Figaro. I really enjoy dining there! Excellent, love the food, the display counter, the place and the people. The choice of seafood is excellent. Nice deco, a relaxing place to dine and enjoy the delicious meal. Well done to everyone in Le Figaro, what a team! Wishing you all the best and hope it's a success. No doubt, I will be back for a lovely lunch/dinner there soon!!!

Would just like to say thank you for a great meal out at Le Figaro last night. The restaurant is lovely. Food and service could not be faulted.

I would like to thank Manchester Confidential for highlighting the new restaurant Le Figaro to us. I enjoyed a delicious meal there last night comprising of the largest juiciest chilli prawns, fillet steak cooked to perfection and even managed to squeeze in a little champagne sorbet!! which might just have sent us over the limit. The restaurant was tastefully appointed and the service was second to none, just the right mix of friendliness without being overbearing. I shall and have already been recommending it to my friends. Good luck to them and I hope its a success and I shall enjoy many more evenings there.

I was very impressed by the atmosphere which was relaxing and the decor. The idea of not having a menu and being able to pick your food from a counter was different but I liked the idea. The food was Excellent!! I started with scallops which were succulent, then moved onto tiger prawns with chilli and garlic (to die for)and for the finale hot sticky chocolate pudding!! It's currently 23.42pm and I'm not joking I am still full!! The staff were very attentive but not overbearing they really made me feel like a VIP. Can't wait for my next visit.....

Thank you so much for a fantastic evening last night at Le Figaro. Mike and Jane made us most welcome and even though we ate quite late at 9 30 there was no rush. We had the most fantastic food and we loved choosing at the counter. It was all so tempting! My sardines were as good as those on beach restaurants and the sea bass baked in salt divine! A very very novel way of going out for a meal and I am sure it will be a great success with the people of Manchester. The setting is nice and relaxing and the staff friendly. Hope to visit again soon! Best wishes to all at Le Figaro

Just a short note from one of those selected for the taster meals at LeFigaro - we had our meal last evening. Mike Fisher was an excellenthost and we were given VIP treatment - full three course meal (payingonly for the wine). I like the open kitchen and food displays in thefridges. The restaurant was quite busy, service was good but rathermechanistic and theve not got the atmosphere quite right yet but itshard to pin down what I would change. The decor is a cross betweenParisian Bistro and 21st Century Canteen Chic and that may havesomething to do with it! Most enjoyable Thanks for arranging it.

Thank you for the complementary food last night. The atmosphere was good and the decor tasteful. Our food was cooked to perfection and was obviously very fresh. My husband had the muscles and tuna steak followed by hot sticky toffee pudding. I had pate fillet steak in creamy peppercorn sauce followed by the cheesecake. The only negative comment I would make was that the Chablis we had was not very chilled when it arrived at the table although it did chill whilst in the bucket. Hope your evenings prove to be a success and you get the feedback you are looking for.

How glad was I when I took up the opportunity to indulge my taste buds at this marvellous restaurant! The service from the staff was friendly and polite, the food was mouth-wateringly good (a welcome change from my boots meal deal!) my main meal, Sirloin steak was cooked almost to perfection. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who has some time on their hands to spend for eating, as they cater for light snacks and sandwiches as well as main meals, and believe me, the steaks are delicious. It gave a pleasant atmosphere that was not daunting, you were made to feel welcome the minute you walked through the door. It seems like the perfect place to impress business clientele or even go for a romantic dinner for two, especially with valentines day looming!

What can I say? Just been to Le Figaro with 2 work colleagues and had a smashing meal! (Thanks M C). It wasn’t just good it was excellent! The Fillet steak was the best I have tasted in Manchester, and my previous top 3 where Zinc, Choice, and Groucho! So this really hit all the right spots. I Personally love the idea of been able to see and choose your food before you sit down to dine, and tells you something about the confidence the owners have in their suppliers, they will always expect the best and serve the best, because if you don’t like what you see, you simply won’t dine. So bravo to the team at Le fig, and long may the reign.

I have recently dined at Le Figaro restaurant and thought that the food and service were top notch. The atmosphere not only in the restaurant, but the bar as well, made myself and my friends feel relaxed and looked after. I highly reccommend this establishment for the mouth-watering meat and fish offered, along with an excellent range of alcohol! (the champagne cocktails went down a treat!)

Having just read the recent review of Le Figaro Brasserie, I felt compelled to write my own in its defence. Myself and a friend recently visited Deansgate to do some shopping, drinking & eating for the weekend. We didn't book anywhere for dinner as we thought we'd go wherever took our fancy - and we ended up in Le Figaro, just off Pall Mall - after a day of shopping we just couldn't resist the leather sofas! Our evening began with a champagne cocktail in the lounge with its plush decor & chilled Latin music, then, we were taken upstairs to the Brasserie where we sat & browsed through the quirky wine list. After ordering some more drinks, we were taken up to the food counter (which looks directly onto the kitchen - always comforting!) to choose our meals from the impressive array of fresh meat and fish on display. It was not easy, but I eventually decided on the Tournedos Rossini - the most expensive option at £20, but, as I was to discover, well worth every penny. We shared a sticky chocolate pudding for dessert, and almost came to blows over the last mouthful. Now, don't get me wrong, I like attentive service, but one major advantage to their unique service system is that waiting staff don't hover around the table, awkwardly setting cutlery (there's no faffing about with fish knives at Le Figaro!) or pouring wine every five minutes that you don't want. They simply left us to enjoy ourselves safe in the knowledge that they were merely a glance away if we needed anything. The atmosphere, service & food were first class, and I would urge anyone to try the Le Figaro dining experience for themselves (even if it is only to gawp at the bar staff!). We're already planning our next trip! Right, do I get that free meal now?
