'Madchester' has returned with a vengeance, but unfortunately this latest wave of madness isn't exactly music to our ears. We know January is a bit of a dull old month, but these attempts to liven up proceedings are on a par with Weirdy Wallie’s World of the Weird. If you have any information as to the identity or purpose of the scantily clad ladies - please share!

Not about the girls but other unexplained madness: any idea about the floor stencils by Kro Piccadilly which say "Ted's mum says: clean up!" ?? Assume they're some ad stunt but can find no reference on the internet. Any thoughts..? Charlotte Hamilton |
They looked great maybe they could dance next time! Steve Johnson |
OHHH, DEEP. LIKE IT. SOMEONE WILL BE GETTING A 1ST IN ART CLASS, EH? Steve Waring |
This is just another excerise in the exploitation of women in a overly obsesed media (capatalist) driven society. Alison Ryan |
Why were people covering their kids' eyes? For starters these dudettes were in bikinis (not naked), which is seen on TV plenty and on holiday and at beaches in this country, and secondly the only kids who are going to be shocked by nudity are those brought up in households where they are told that nudity is shameful, that is that the human body is shameful, that is that their kids are shameful for being humans - in other words, the only kids who would be offended would be those kids who are taught that they (the kids) are shameful, just because they're human. The ridiculousness of adults astounds me. anonymous |
Actually, I think you'll find that the girls weren't 'doing nothing'. They were symbolising the female struggle for identity, their movements showed how much effort they were willing to go to in order to achieve this, and the clown faces were all about how stupid they knew their protest was. anonymous (no identity) |
