Manchester Chinese Arts Centre does it first

Manchester’s Chinese Arts Centre is currently holding the UK’s first fundraising Chinese contemporary art auction which culminates in a special closing event, hosted by Urban Splash chairman, Tom Bloxham MBE, on the evening of Thursday 2 December at Chinese Arts Centre from 6-8pm. Viewing and bidding is live now at www.auction.chinese-arts-centre.org and in the gallery at Chinese Arts Centre on Thomas Street.

The auction will include works donated by 29 artists including Gordon Cheung, Suki Chan, Dinu Li, Ed Pien, Ming Wong, Tsang Kin Wah and Pei Yuan Jiang.

Buyers will have the opportunity to invest in painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media works by internationally acclaimed contemporary Chinese artists whilst supporting Chinese Arts Centre’s ongoing artistic programmes.

All bids start at £200, regardless of higher market prices, ensuring the auction is accessible both for established collectors and those looking to start a collection.

Art fans attending the auction will also have the opportunity to win an original lithograph by live artist, Yingmei Duan, whose work will also be available at the auction. Yingmei’s ‘Worried Clown’ is one of two lithographs she created in 2001.
