Light Night Liverpool – a must

NIGHT owls in Liverpool can look forward to a special evening of fantastic arty facts and fun – there's even food and drink thrown in - as the city's museums unlock their doors for a special “after hours” celebration.

If disco dancing marathons don't grab you, there's a silent disco. Or you can get your kicks with a Toulouse-Lautrec tour or marvel at the city's fantastic architecture on a trek. ir Ranulph Fiennes is even in on the act as part of Light Night on Friday May 14.

Pen it in your diary now. You are going.

Light Night in Liverpool is part of the Museums at Night, the annual after-hours celebration of UK culture, history and heritage. Over the weekend of 14-16 May 2010, museums and galleries all over the UK will be opening late and staging over 230 superb events.

In Liverpool that means a springtime celebration of culture, bringing together an impressive array of organisations, venues and individuals from around the city to deliver a night to remember.

Light Night will see over 50 venues and organisations including the city’s world class museums and gallery spaces open up. There's plenty of music and performance too.

It's a chance to not only visit established venues and undiscovered spaces around the city in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere, but to take in a special offer from one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants jumping on board to complete the experience.

It follows on from the highly successful Long Night which took place in October 2008 and September 2009. Many galleries, museums and businesses have already signed up to become part of the Light Night with more organisations coming on board every day.

Liverpool Confidential will be out and about that night. See you around? Yes we will.
