The fifth Manchester Art Show, originally scheduled to take place last weekend, was suddenly cancelled last month to a resounding ‘boo, hiss’ from the art world.
But undeterred, a group of enterprising Manchester based artists and Chorlton’s Troubador Gallery got their heads together and decided that the show must go on. So, with less than a month to go they went about arranging a high quality national exhibition of original artwork, and Art Manchester 2006 was born.
The show will take place at The Palace Hotel between 28th and 30th October, and will feature fine art paintings, sculpture and photographs from some of Britain’s finest artists.
The event, which is being supported by The Whitworth Art Gallery, The Lowry, Tate Liverpool and The Arts Council, will be a fantastic opportunity for culture vultures and art novices alike to browse and buy exciting, original artwork.
Live music will be played as customers browse the artwork, courtesy of a grand piano that is being brought in especially for the event.
