All Star Lanes Becomes First Bowling Alley To Perform Marriages

From exchanging of rings to striking of pins in one day

All Star Lanes Becomes First Bowling Alley To Perform Marriages

COME January 2014, bowling-mad brides and bridegrooms will be able to get hitched at All Star Lanes at Manchester's Great Northern on Deansgate.

Not everyone wants to walk up the aisle in a traditional church wedding – some people would rather walk up the bowling alley instead. Brides don't even have to replace their wedding heels with bowling shoes. Unless they want to, of course.

The newly-awarded licence allows couples to exchange their vows in a unique civil ceremony on the lanes of the main hall, the more intimate west wing or in an exclusive private room. A number of weddings have already been booked.

All Star Lanes can accommodate between 20 and 600 wedding guests with bespoke wedding breakfasts and receptions to make a do with a difference. Why sit down to rubbery chicken and wilting veg when you could tuck into a rack of ribs instead? Just be careful with the BBQ sauce – it's a nightmare to get out of a wedding dress. Imagine the dry cleaning bills and weep.

Angus Pride, general manager of All Star Lanes, Deansgate said: “For many people it's a dream wedding venue, with the retro décor, fantastic catering and on-hand entertainment for all the guests, everything is quite literally under one roof. We understand the hard work that goes into planning a wedding and look forward to helping make couples' dreams for their big day become a reality.”

It's not like getting married at any old out-of-town bowling alley with unflattering strip lighting, games machines and sticky carpets. All Star Lanes is known for its lip-smacking food, proper cocktails and the largest collection of bourbon in Manchester. It certainly sounds like the wedding disco will be a whole lot of fun.

Interested newlyweds-to-be should contact All Star Lanes on 0161 871 3602 or email Natasha@allstarlanes.co.uk
