Mad Ferret Festival is only in its second year but the efforts of a group of students who wanted to create a festival right in the middle of students-ville (Platt Fields Park) has paid off.
Inspired by a variety of other festivals across Europe, Mad Ferret aims to bring a piece from each together to reflect Manchester's party spirit. This year the line-up features acts such as The Streets, Roots Manuva, Pendulum, Finley Quaye and Stanton Warriors, all performing across 9 stages on Platt Fields Park. Other acts recently added to the line-up, include Ernies Rhythm Section, Monkey See Monkey Do, Box Kid, Riz MC and Paper Tiger plus DJ sets from Up The Racket, Hot Club, Sex with Robots, Prostitutes & Policemen, Will Tramp and Ryan Hunn, plus many more. In addition to a wide variety of musical styles, festival-goers can also expect lots of alternative arts and entertainment.
Big Brother's Big Mouth presenter, Jack Whitehall will be comparing the comedy tent, the Caribbean Umbrella Collective will be creating a place to chill out and then there's also the Circus Society, Bike Polo Allstars, Kids games for Adults, Alice in Wonderland Tea Party, Ferret Factor, Burlesque dancers, poetry and live art from Sketch City. Other local community groups will also be running activities and workshops over the two day event.
Tickets are priced at £55 and available online from www.madferrefestival.com
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winners Katherine Lyster, Tina Oliver and Lauren Harrington
