The Roots are back. After two years away, the innovative hip-hop ensemble return with a new album and a new label.
The new hard hitting album ‘Game theory’ was released in August 2006, and this weekend they come to Manchester to show us what they’re made of.
‘Game Theory’ is The Roots most thought-provoking, incisive album since their 1999 breakthrough ‘Things Fall Apart’ and is the group’s debut for Def Jam Recordings.
“There was too much going on that we couldn’t just sit back and not speak on it,” says lyricist Black Thought.
