After forming in Manchester back in 1977, Magazine had a surge of success which took the band right through to the early eighties. Vocalist Howard Devoto left Manchester punk outfit Buzzcocks to form Magazine, who then went on to record four studio albums - Real Life, Secondhand Daylight, The Correct Use of Soap, and Magic, Murder and the Weather.
The band have consistently received critical acclaim over the years and more recently they were listed by NME as one of the most influential bands of all time. Modern day artists such as Radiohead and Morrissey have cited Magazine as being influential to their music.
Magazine reformed earlier this year and played a series of concerts that quickly sold out. Now set to embark on a three city outing, the new show promises to be a classic performance that will cull its content from the evergreen third album- The Correct Use of Soap. That album, produced by legendary Joy Division producer, Martin Hannet, routinely features in best albums ever made lists.
