Pop music and..er…Saab. Let’s stick with Sweden and music. If you’ve never heard of Abba, Roxette or Ace of Base you must have been asleep through the last three decades. Casting the Swedish spell onto the noughties pop era is one of Sweden’s finest scando pop acts, ‘Loney, dear’. And the good news is, they will be performing at one of Manchester’s rock’n’roll capital, Night & Day.
So who are these people. Well, Emil Svanängen’s group, ‘Loney, dear’, are a full, five member band complete with guitar, drums, organ, bass-guitar claps and the most impossible falsetto harmonies. This musical project was recorded straight out of his bedroom in Jönköping, Sweden. According to NME it’s “the best indie/folk band nobody's heard of (yet)”
‘Loney, dear’ are lined up to play in the UK in April (see below), after touring with the legendary Low. They will be hitting Manchester’s Night & Day on Tuesday 24th April, 8pm-2am. Tickets cost £7. To book or for more information please click here.
