Norman Musa is an award-winning genius of a contemporary Malaysian chef. He mixes, matches, and mingles flavours, fragrances and textures to marvelous effect.
You can catch him in his day job as the Executive Chef and co-owner of Ningrestaurant on Oldham Street – this was our review from a year or two ago, click here.
Mentored in his skills by his late mum who was renowned for her cooking in herhome town of Butterworth, Penang, Musa has shaped Ning into a criticallyacclaimed restaurant in less than 3 years with his nomination for Manchester’sChef of the Year in 2009 and other fantastic reviews in The Sunday Times,Manchester Evening News and Time Out, London.
Musa has also taught over 500 students at Ning Cookery School how to masterclassic Malaysian dishes such as Rendang, Gulai and Murtabak. He’s written hisown acclaimed Malaysian cookbook and, curiously, was appointed as Race Chef tothe Lotus Racing F1 team for the 2010 season.
As usual Electrik with its Guestrant events will provide Musa with a cracking environment to apply his talents. Also as usual the atmosphere will be informal,an occasion where you can share a table and make new friends.
