Call us conventional but we've always considered vodka to be something you drink rather than eat. But at Revolution at Deansgate Locks, they've got other ideas. Not only do they serve a dizzy array of vodkas to quaff, but now they're putting it in their food as well. And they're doing a special discounted menu for Confidential readers.
They've just launched The Vodka Kitchen – home-cooked, quality food with special Revolution creations infused with vodka flavours. It includes a vodka pizza (chorizo, goats cheese and mozzarella with strips of chicken glazed with chilli vodka, and topped with fresh rocket). And a vodka burger – a depraved invention if ever we saw one. It's made of jalapenos, peppers, a slab of Monterey Jack cheese and vodka salsa) Yum. Or should that be 'hiccup'?
There's also chilli vodka chicken wings, and a selection of non-vodka orientated dishes including warm Camembert with crudites as a starter, roast butternut squash rigatoni and buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad with toasted garlic bread.
The Confidential menu deal gives you two courses for £10, or two courses with a glass of wine or a bottle of Peroni for £12, each followed by a cappuccino or a cappuccino vodka.
Get yourself down there to try it. Revolution at Deansgate Locks is a good-looking venue with soaring arches and huge chandeliers and a canal-side outdoor terrace.
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winner Barry Wall and Caroline Massey.
