Win money for nothing

Do you want £20 for doing absolutely nowt? We have five Bread cards, the UK's first proper bit of pay-as-you-go plastic, and are reluctantly giving them away

Win money for nothing

Is it a credit card? Do you have to be rich to get one? No, it's the Bread card and it has just launched for the first time, in Liverpool, as maybe the most devilishly simple flexible friend you have ever seen.

Ideal for students and those who cannot or do not wish to own a conventional credit card (there are no credit checks), the Bread card can be used for purchasing everything you need from shopping to flights on the internet.

The card, which means you no longer have to carry cash, works in the same way as a pay-as-you-go mobile phone. It can be topped up at Asda and any PayPoint® outlets for a small fee. You can also get your wages transferred directly onto this Chip & PIN Maestro® card which is issued by Newcastle Building Society.

The Bread Card can be used abroad and is good for older children - a secondary card facility is available so that you can transfer money to them (they must be 13+) - or to holders travelling in other countries. It is available to anyone with a valid international digital passport or driving licence and a UK delivery address .

Burning a hole on the Confidential desk today are five Bread cards, each loaded with £20. We said we would give them to you, and, if you're lucky in our competition today, we just might.

This competition is now closed. Congratulations to our winners, Andy Eastwood, Rachel Wainwright, Lee Stewart, Paul Burke and Cathy Edwards.
