Disability charity Scope has teamed up with Lancashire Cricket Club (LCC) in a bid to bowl – out (gettit?) disability discrimination, as part of its Time to Get Equal campaign.
Scope North West will be working with the cricket club to develop accessible facilities and make things easier for disabled fans. The partnership was officially launched at the Lancashire vs. Yorkshire Liverpool Victoria County Championship match on the 9th August with the Lancs players stepping-up to the crease alongside the Lancashire disabled cricket team. Cathy Elliott, Scope NW regional appeals manager, presented the manager Mike Watkinson and player Stuart Law with a partnership pledge to sign prior to the first ball being bowled.
With the England side picking up the Ashes last year and more investment being made in the game overall, Scope believes now is the perfect opportunity for clubs to revise their current facilities and make the necessary changes to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
To celebrate the partnership and to help raise funds for Scope NW’s work, Scope and the LCC are giving away a cricket bat signed by Freddie Flintoff.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer the following question:
Text the word ‘Scope’ and answer ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ to 83383.
Texts cost £1.50, with 90p being donated to Scope.
Competition closes 31st August
