Win Valentine's dinner and a luxury stay at Abode

Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday this year so you've no excuse for not making it into a special occasion – and this prize for two at Abode hotel will certainly do that. They're giving away a Valentine's dinner in their renowned Michael Caines restaurant followed by a night in their 'Fabulous on Fifth' penthouse suite with breakfast the next day. Whether you're a loved-up couple or just a pair of pals who want a luxury hotel break, you'll be looking forward to this (and daydreaming about it afterwards) for weeks.

The Valentine's dinner is a treat in itself with each course complemented by a specially selected wine. You'll be greeted with a flute of MC Blanc de Blanc champagne before being served an appetizer of Jerusalem artichoke and truffle soup. For starter, you'll have duck confit and fennel risotto with wild mushroom and a light spiced jus. Your fish course will be braised turbot and mussels with a basil butter sauce, followed by a main course of fillet of beef with celeriac purée, roast shallots and red wine sauce. Dessert is chocolate orange confit mousse with orange confit sorbet.

Accompanying wines include Killara Chardonnay 2005, from Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia, and the Chateau Mourgues du Gres 2006 from Costieres de Nimes, France. The menu costs £75 per person (including wines) if you want to book in. The competition winner and their guest won't pay a penny.

Following your dinner, you'll likely want to retire to your luxury suite, 'Fabulous on Fifth'. It's a loft-style penthouse apartment which retains a sense of the hotel's origins as a nineteenth century textile warehouse: think exposed beams and ironwork columns rather than urchins in flat caps. It's very spacious and very hip with modern art from the likes of David Hockney and Yoko Ono gracing the walls. The wet room has a monsoon shower and is stocked with Jo Malone products. Your refreshment tray will contain a selection of regional treats, just in case you can't hold out between your five course dinner and your full English breakfast the next day.
