According to Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Liam Frost is “The most talented young songwriter Manchester has produced for years”. That accolade in itself should be reason enough to go and check him out when he plays a stint of gigs at Night and Day over the next month, but here’s a bit more information anyway.
Liam Frost has been doing the rounds over the past couple of years, playing every dark and smoky space in Manchester and has already built himself up a devoted following, including some big names on the Manchester music scene.
After spending a few years singing in ‘shouty punk bands’, Liam went solo in 2003 at the age of 20 and since then has been writing and performing eccentric, acoustic pop, and touring the country supporting the likes of Stephen Fretwell, Nine Black Alps, Willy Mason, Badly Drawn Boy and Kinks legend Ray Davies. The NME have praised the young talent, saying “Frost’s richly thick Northern tone and escapist lyrics are mesmerising. Bittersweet regret has never seemed so inviting.”
To promote the release of his EP in February, Liam and his band The Slowdown Family will be playing residencies at Night and Day over the next month, and we have a pair of tickets to give away to each date! Tickets to the first gig have now been won, but don't worry as Liam will be making three more appearances on the 2nd, 9th and 16th February.
To win be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets for the gig on the 2nd February at Night and Day, simply fill in your details below! Don’t worry if you’re not successful, you’ll have three more chances over the next few weeks.
