Win Echo and the Bunnymen Tickets

Published on October 11th 2005.

Following the release of their new album, Siberia in September, legendary Liverpool post-punk band Echo and the Bunnymen will be wowing crowds across the country in October with a UK tour.

We have a pair of tickets to give away for the Manchester gig, and if the band’s recent performances at this summer’s festivals are anything to go by, it will definitely be one not to miss.

The album, which is the band’s first offering in four years, is truly a fantastic illustration of their 26 years together. Siberia takes the band back to their roots and features their dark, swirling fusion of post-punk and 70’s inspired psychedelia that brought the group worldwide acclaim and a massive cult following.

The album’s terrific sound may be partly to do with the fact that the band’s current line up is as close to the original Bunnymen as it has ever been, and partly to do with the recruitment of legendary producer Hugh Jones.

This is the first time that Hugh has worked with the Bunnymen since their second album in 1981. “Having Hugh on board has been great,” says Sergeant. “To have him there all the time, it’s as if he’s a sort of glue fitting everything together”.

Echo and the Bunnymen will be playing at the Academy on the 27th October. To be in with a chance of scooping a pair of free tickets, simply fill in your details in the form below.
