Win Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Premiere Tickets!

Published on July 15th 2005.

Time to stuff your face again with everlasting Gobstoppers, wonka bars, hot ice creams, sugar coated pencils and fizzy lifting drinks as Roald Dahl’s classic novel ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ gets the Tim Burton treatment and we’ve got tickets for the premiere to give away!

To enter the competition, you’ll have to be quick, just fill out the form below and we’ll be contacting winners this afternoon!

To celebrate the Wonka factory doors opening its gates for the first time in 34 years, Red Cinema have given us 3 family tickets for THIS SUNDAY’s (17th July, 2005) Sky Family Premiere. With a live satellite link-up to the London premiere, to be attended by a host of the film’s stars including Johnny Depp, celebrities and competition winners in Manchester will walk up the green carpet to be greeted by the sight of a spectacular Chocolate Fountain, Candy Floss Machine and much more, as the wonderful world of Willy Wonka comes to the cinema.

Roald Dahl himself actually hated the 1971 original, but with Burton mainstay Johnny Depp taking over from Gene Wilder in the Willy Wonka role, expect a completely different, and darker, take on the book. Recent trailers have given us a glimpse of what to expect and Depp certainly appears to have slotted into Wonka’s top hat and tails with ease.

After years of hiding away in highly selective, but also highly effective roles, Depp appears to have bitten the bullet and made the jump into the Hollywood mainstream career with this role following on from his Keith Richards-impersonating role in Pirates of the Caribbean. The role was so successful Depp swashbuckled back into Captain Jack’s boots to start filming the follow up as soon as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wrapped.

Depp as Wonka is a mouthwatering prospect. Hollywood’s most off the wall director casting his most regular and off the wall actor as Roald Dahl’s most off the wall character. It’s one for the kids definitely, but the rest of the family should enjoy this as well.

‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’ will be released nationwide on July 29th 2005, so you will be getting to see the movie well before anyone else!
