It's bad enough when they haven't got anything on, so to speak. They do get ever so excitable at the best of times.
But the Enthusiastic Theatre Company have got something proper to shout about this week.
From Thursday to Saturday, they are staging one of Harold Pinter's greatest plays, The Birthday Party, at the Unity Theatre (all performances starting at 8.00pm)
The play centres on Stanley, who has, for some reason, been hiding out at a run-down seaside B&B.
There have been no other guests for over a year, but out of the blue, Goldberg and McCann arrive, looking for him. Whatever he has done, it looks like his past has caught up with him.
The Birthday Party wasn't always one of Pinter's classics. It was critically mauled when it first opened.
John Campbell (Lilies; The Singing Detective)
Reg Edwards (Zoo Story; Abigail's Party)
McCann - Francis Field (The Government Inspector; Night of the Iguana)
Goldberg - Paul Fred Kelly (Zoo Story; Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead)
Meg - Jeanette Jarrel (Eugene Onegin; Titanic – the Musical)
Lulu - Laura Wallace (Lilies; Kicks)
