Win A Bottle Of Fine French Wine From 63 Degrees

WITH 40-plus French wines, champagnes and ports on its list, 63 Degrees has a cellar to make any wine aficionado curious.

The list spans all the great wine regions of France, with a particularly focus on Bordeaux

Owner-managers Alex Moreau and his father Eric have been gradually building up their selection since the restaurant opened on Church Street in the Northern Quarter two years ago. They can now safely say it's one of the best, if not the best, collection of French wines on Manchester's dining scene.

The wine list spans all the great wine regions of France, with a particularly focus on Bordeaux. They've been careful to provide a range that appeals to all budgets and tastes, from the 2011 Rosé d’Anjou from Pierre Chainier in the Loire for £19 up to the 2006 Pomerol Cru Bourgeois, Clos L’Eglise for £126. Good value and good quality are the watchwords here.

Confidential recently dispatched wine writer Neil Sowerby to 63 Degrees to select his favourites – read his article on wines at 63 Degrees.

In this competition you can win your choice of either a Sancerre ‘Aujourd’hui comme autrefois,’ Domaine Daniel Brochard - Vintage 2011, or a Margaux, Chateau La Tour de Mons ‘Cru Bourgeois’ - Vintage 2007.

The Sancerre is produced, as Daniel Brochard’s ancestors would have done, without fining, filtration or temperature control giving incredible intensity of flavour. The aroma is packed with intense gooseberry and nettle perfume. The palate is full, crisp and fresh with a mouthwatering long finish.

The Margaux, Chateau La Tour de Mons ‘Cru Bourgeois’ is produced on an estate that dates back to the fifteenth century and currently enjoys a reputation for making well rounded, great drinking wines. Grapes are hand harvested to ensure premium selection and the wine is matured in small oak barrels for 12 months before being bottled unfiltered. Beautifully-lifted aromas lead to a complex yet silky palate.

The winner will need to collect their bottle of wine from 63 Degrees. It can be enjoyed at home or in the restaurant.
