MOST restaurants have a house red and white. Fewer have a house champagne – and fewer still have their name on the label.
63 Degrees, the family-run French restaurant in the Northern Quarter, is one of this select group. They collaborated with champagne house Pierre Mignon to produce a champagne exclusively for their menu.
Says head chef Eric Moreau, “We have always had a strong passion for champagne carried from our French heritage and we wished to provide our customers with the best quality and product possible. So choosing this champagne, which is exclusive to us in the UK market, was imperative to us.
“Our house champagne is a beautiful ‘Brut Prestige’, an aromatically intense champagne with mineral notes, yellow fruit and brioche. The palate is dry, firm and zesty, with an attractive creaminess and length.
A bottle of the 63 Degrees champagne costs £50. It makes stunning drinking when paired with the classic French cuisine served at 63 Degrees.
