BBC Proms in the Park in Salford is back on Saturday 11 September with singing time traveller John Barrowman as the headline act.
This guy's career spans from Desperate Housewives to Dancing on Ice to Doctor Who but he can do more than just act. He first found fame as a leading man in the West End, getting an Olivier Award nomination back in 1998 and being praised by critics for his 'fine baritone voice and suave looks'. Since then, he's kept up the singing with the release of several albums of musical numbers, with a new one out at the moment.
He'll be joined by world class mezzo soprano Juliette Pochin and Salford opera sensation Jon Christos who were a hit at the 2009 concert. Together with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra they'll be putting on a rousing performance of classics and musical numbers.
The Proms in the Park are a lovely way to mark the end of the summer. Take a picnic and a rug and you'll have a great evening underneath the stars. The concert culminates in a live link-up with the Albert Hall and a big-impact fireworks display.
It's all happening at Buile Hill Park on Saturday 11 September. Gates open at 4pm, performances start at 6.30pm. Tickets are priced at just £20. To get yours, cclick here.
