Want to see The Zutons play St George's Hall?

They brought us a whole host of toe-tapping tunes like Valerie - although they don't see it as their song any more, and now the excellent Zutons are coming home to St George’s Hall for an exclusive one-off gig on the closing night of the Liverpool SoundCity music festival.

As part of Gaymers Grassroots Gigs, 23rd May will mark a very special hometown performance by the band, who are currently here writing their fourth album, scotching rumours of a split after the band were dropped by their record label Sony/BMG at the start oif the year.

Dave McCabe, frontman of The Zutons says: "It's always a pleasure to play in Liverpool, the last two times we played here was at Anfield and the Arena.

“But I think this gig will be different because of the intimacy of St George’s, I think the last time we did something like this was in the Zanzibar, it’s always fun to play smaller places it will be interesting and a good one to be at." Now in its second year, Gaymers Grassroots Gigs, which is put togeether by Gaymers Cider, will see six bands head back to their hometowns to perform an intimate one-off set in a local venue close to their heart.

Other acts in the series include Starsailor, who will be performing a special set in Wigan. Further acts in the series will be announced in the coming weeks.

But we have got our hands on four pairs of tickets to give away to lucky Liverpool Confidential readers. Yes, FOUR, thanks to the peo-ple at Gaymers Cider.

How much are they worth? We don't know because you can't buy them.
