Twenty20 cricket has made a massive impact since it arrived on the scene in Britain a few years ago. Now it's attracting a global audience with the controversial success of the Indian Premier League, and with less controversial games such as the international between England and New Zealand at Old Trafford this Friday.
For many people, especially those with families, it's the perfect introduction into the wonderful world of cricket. The total game time is around three hours with a maximum of twenty overs being bowled by each team.
Excitement is guaranteed because with such limited overs the bowlers have to attack with pace and precision and the batsmen have to smash and grab with determination. The game turns one way and then the other as the wickets fall. It's fast, frenetic and furious.
Across three hours you get wonderful entertainment on the pitch. But you also get entertainment off it with loads of activities going on. There're nets for the kids to practise in and just about all the fun of the fair too.
Lightning have done well in recent years too, losing out in the Finals last year, so get down there on us and watch them beat Durham Dynamos on Tuesday 17 June from 5.40pm.
