There's some good stuff on at the Everyman and Playhouse theatres in the final part of the 2009 season, and we've got a pair of tickets for every in-house production to give away to one reader.

There will be a new cast of four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and action.

Autumn sees the homecoming of Everyman alumnus and recently appointed CBE Jonathan Pryce in Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker. Then spirits soar in Lawrence Till’s stage version of the classic Kes, and there's a treat for Christmas audiences at the Playhouse with John Buchan’s The 39 Steps. This hilarious Olivier Award-winning adaptation by Patrick Barlow was a hit on the West End.

The opening production at the Playhouse in September is Kes, a moving adaptation based on the Barry Hines’s novel, A Kestrel For A Knave. Kes is directed by Nikolai Foster with a cast that includes Daniel Casey, Mike Burnside, David Crellin, Katherine Dow Blyton and Oliver Farnworth.

The Caretaker at the Everyman in October will be a homecoming for celebrated actor Jonathan Pryce to the theatre where he began his career. Directed by Christopher Morahan and designed by Eileen Diss, who worked with Pinter on many occasions, this will be a significant production of the classic masterpiece.

Christmas at the Playhouse will bring the blissfully funny classic spy thriller, The 39 Steps. This inventive and gripping comedy, directed by Maria Aitken, follows the incredible adventures of handsome hero Richard Hannay. For Liverpool there will be a new cast of four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and action.
