Pygmalion ticket bonanza

Pygmalion ticket bonanza

All the inconsequential tree-bothering print people have said loads of nice things about Pygmalion.

The Times: ‘Delicious’. The Sunday Times: ‘Hersov directs with impeccable precision’.

The production got four stars from the Guardian, The Independent and the weird people who write for the Deathly Mail.

Websites have joined in too. The well-respected whatsonstage.com site wrote: ‘wonderfully witty…exquisitely delivered on every level...a faultless cast who give winning performances – a decadent, diamond-encrusted treat featuring a glittering star turn from a leading lady to look out for.’

More importantly our writer Joan Davies said: “For a play written almost 100 years ago, this production feels remarkably up-to-date due to the quality of the writing, the pace of the production and our modern familiarity with make-overs and their impact on self-image. You’re left in no doubt of Shaw’s views on the hypocrisy of the rigid Edwardian class system and his support for a positive view on the perception and judgement of women, but you don’t feel preached at or lectured to. An excellent, and entertaining, evening at the theatre.”

Pygmalion is a story of transformation and comes from the pen of George Bernard Shaw. The story was later adapted into the musical ‘My Fair Lady’.

We’re lucky to get our hands on these tickets. If you want to see what the fuss is all about click below to apply for one of four pairs of tickets for Monday 14 June, Tuesday 15 June, Wednesday 16 June. That’s next week, so start applying.
