Psst! Want to go to a glittering movie première?

Last minute competition: We have three pairs of tickets to give away to the sold-out world première of Of Time And The City this Thursday. Plus the aftershow party. Exciting huh?

Published on October 7th 2008.

Psst! Want to go to a glittering movie première?

RIGHT. We don't care how you look the rest of the time, but for this one you've got to scrub up well.

That's because the world première of Terence Davies' epic feature film, Of Time And The City, is a black tie do. So no riff raff.

Anyway, the biggest event in the city's moviemaking calendar this year is happening at the Philharmonic Hall this Thursday night, with a big party afterwards.

The event sold out immediately the tickets went on sale - and that was even before Empire magazine gave it five stars and called it “the most poignant, beautiful, entrancing British film of the year”.

The film, made by the Hope Street based Hurricane Films, sees Kensington-born Terence, who also made the award winning Distant Voices, Still Lives, look at the history and transformation of Liverpool. It's already been universally hailed as a masterpiece at Cannes, and earlier this year we did an exclusive interview with the man himself

Our friends at North West Vision love it when you, our discerning, erudite and fun loving Liverpool Confidential readers, turn up at their events (this one is organised in conjunction with the British Film Institute) and they have invited a small handful of you to be at this one.

So no showing us up.

We have three pairs of tickets to give away for Thursday night. Want to go?
