Now the highest restaurant in the UK is going up another notch by introducing the city's first Tasting Menu - a showcase of several dishes with smaller portions. It is intended to be an occasion meal for diners while sampling a restaurant’s best dishes and illustrating the food philosophy of a restaurant.

For £55 or £75 (when including complementing wines)- the menu, which will change seasonally, begins with seared Orkney scallops served with black pudding and confit orange. Along with the second dish of pork belly foie gras terrine with pickled shallots pear both dishes are matched with chablis. Wild seabass samphire with broad beans, shrimps and peas is served with tempranillo. The fourth dish is duck breast served with a chestnut puree, fig & apricot tartin, pistachio and leeks is matched with a glass of Crozes Vermitage. Sweet dishes include a spiced chocolate delice served with a white chocolate sorbet and chocolate sauce and a raspberry tart with lemon curd and chocolate sorbet. both are matched with Elysiam Black muscat.

Chef Director Chris Marshall says: “This is something I wanted to do at the start when we opened but it has taken us three years to get a to a point when I truly believe this is the best menu you will eat in Liverpool.”
