Karima Francis will be performing at Manchester Academy 3 on Monday 1 December, promoting her début album. Francis has been named in The Times' top five artists of 2009 and is a Mancunian must-see.
Compared to Joan Armatrading and dubbed the female Leonard Cohen, 20 year old Karima Francis is a breath of fresh air on Manchester's acoustic scene. Currently signed to Kitchenware Records her emotive performances and beautiful voice have met with glowing reviews. Her label is convinced that 'Karima is the most important artist to come out of Manchester since Morrissey'. That's some statement of confidence in the singer.
Her performance at Academy 3 marks the release of her début single 'Chasing The Morning Light'. If you like what you hear a limited 500 copies of the single on 7” vinyl will be available at the gig.
To win a pair of the 10 pairs of tickets apply below. One lucky winner will also get a signed copy of her new single.
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winners David Roberts, Debbie Patching, Linda Howarth, William Duckworth, Colin Cooper, Ellen Ward, Paul Johnson, Alison Walker, Rachael Walker and Liam James Rominson.
