IN just over a week's time Liverpool Sound City takes over with four days of music from 19-22 May, attracting over 35,000 music lovers from across the UK and further afield. A remarkable 2,000 local and International bands have applied to play and take part in the city’s music festival which has been reduced with difficultly to just over 400 bands. In just three years Liverpool Sound City has seen growth and significant interest to become one of the most high profile urban music festivals around. And for 2010, Liverpool Sound City's impressive line-up iincludes Paloma Faith, Ian McCulloch, Delphic, The Maccabees (includes a matinee show), The Fall, Speech Debelle, Wild Beasts, Field Music, Los Campesinos, The Blackout, Wave Machines, The Sunshine Underground, Hot Club de Paris, Beth Jeans Houghton, Archie Bronson Outfit, Ian McNabb and Chilly Gonzalez to name but a few confirmed to play at venues across the city.Organisers say bands now want to come into Liverpool to play in front of a world class music business audience that consists of some of the key players from the international music business that have the ability to offer them recording, sponsorship or publishing deals that can change their lives. As well as playing in front of amazing Liverpool audiences.
