Fancy a weekend of fun?

Win two weekend passes for Summer in the Park and Mr Scruff goodies

Published on June 26th 2008.

Fancy a weekend of fun?

If you fancy an amazing mini festival without leaving the city, just enter this competition and you could be enjoying a whole host of summer fun.

The team behind the UK’s largest food and drink festival brings you Summer in the Park. The first event of its kind, bringing together food, drink, and music. Taking place Saturday 12 – Sunday 13 July in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield, the festival will offer food, drink and music lovers two jam-packed days filled with the best restaurants, chefs, food, drink and music that the region has to offer.

A veritable ‘food and drink concert’, the ‘headliners’ at this event will combine top chefs and musical talent. Split into designated areas, the Summer in the Park site will create a food and drink haven, each offering a fabulous experience that you can enjoy if you win a pair of weekend passes:

Dine in the park: Mancunian restaurant showcase
Produce in the park: Producers market
Drink in the park: Real ale and wine village
Learn in the park: Cookery theatre

Play in the park: Plenty for the kids
Tea in the park: Tea and coffee area
Music in the park: Live music
Feast in the park: Supper time

You can also enjoy goodies from Mr Scruff - Make Us A Brew! giving you the coolest cuppa in town courtesy of DJ, cartoonist and tea-lover Mr Scruff. After years of sharing his love of tea by serving it at his clubs, Mr Scruff decided to source his own tea and set up a tea company. Make Us A Brew! launched a range of organic brews earlier this year including its Fairtrade English Breakfast, Forest Fruit (especially for berry freaks), Yerba Mate (a South American favourite caffeine kick) and their now famous Mint and Chilli (tasting is believing). Mr Scruff designed the packaging (printed on recycled cardboard of course) himself using his unique cartoon style. Try them all plus a few new brews they're taste-testing exclusively at Summer in the Park.
