A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted taking part in a violent attack on a gay student in Liverpool city centre who was singled out for wearing flamboyant clothes
The teen and up to six others attcked and broke the nose of the 19-year-old in Lord Street in November. The Kirkdale youth, who cannot be named, was given a nine-month referral order to attend the youth offender service and ordered to pay £200 court costs at Liverpool Magistrates Court.

TRIBUTES have been pouring in following the death of Liverpool dance teacher Mavis Taberner.
Miss Taberner, 70, ran the Austin Taberner School of Dancing in St Helens and taught for many years at Elliott Clarke's in Liverpool. She taught thousands of pupils who have inundated her Facebook page with messages.

She leaves a husband, Douglas, daughter, Louise and two grand children.

Housing policy in Liverpool is to be overhauled after Labour took control of the city council for the first time in 12 years, the city's new leader, Joe Anderson, has said.
There will be a review of the multi-million pound Housing Market Renewal initiative, proposed house demolitions may be scrapped and a housing select committee will be set up.

SUPPLIERS and staff have expressed outrage after the owner of Liverpool department store Lewis’s yet again went into administration last Friday.
Vergo Retail, owned by David Thompson, had already announced the closure of Lewis's, but planned to continue operating its 18 other stores around Devon, East Anglia and Essex. It employs 942 staff.
