TWO MEN WERE STABBED IN NEWZ BAR in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victims, a 37 year-old and a 33-year-old, both from the Blackburn area, were taken to hospital with stab wounds to the leg. A 26-year-old man from Newcastle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding. He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
CHANDLER’S WHARF FLATS WILL BE RESTORED after being severely damaged when a crane collapsed on to them. Residents were initially told their homes would be demolished, but the building’s agent, Honeybourne Kenny, confirmed it is planning to save it despite the building still having the crane’s five-tonne counterweight embedded in it. Restoration work is expected to begin in the New Year.
A WALLASEY PRIMARY SCHOOL is naming-and-shaming parents who park outside the school. Although parents are not acting illegally, the children of Liscard primary want to highlight the dangers in parking along the narrow access road. The pupils are successfully shaming parents into parking away from the school gates by staging daily pickets and logging their car registration plates after fears the school run would end in tragedy.
