A JUDGE ON BAIL FOR DRINK-DRIVING has been arrested again. Bruce Macmillan was taken into custody on Thursday night on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle in Toxteth. He was bailed pending further inquiries. The 63-year-old was charged in August by Lancashire Police and, if convicted of the offence, could lose his £128,000-a-year job.
THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL HAS MADE A £90M cancer centre bid which would make it the “nerve-centre” for cancer research. The University of Liverpool hopes it will be a “world- class” facility to bolster the city’s international reputation for research in areas like cancer, infectious and digestive diseases. An application has been made before city planners in a bid to open the facility by 2011.
