BOUNCERS at nine Liverpool bars are wearing head-cams as part of a new drive to make the city a safe place at night.

The miniature cameras record pictures and sound and are designed to reduce drink fuelled violence, and provide crucial evidence if a crime is committed.

They are being used at the Baa Bar on Wood Street and Myrtle St, Modo in Concert Square and Bumper on Hardman Street, and it is hoped it will soon extend to other premises.

The trip in April 2010 will also be used to launch a drive to attract more Chinese tourists to Liverpool.
