JAGUAR LAND ROVER IS TO CREATE 800 JOBS at its Halewood plant, in the latest twist in the car giant’s fortunes.
The firm is considering the closure of either its Castle Bromwich plant in Birmingham or its factory in Solihull, which would create new jobs to the Halewood plant.
The company, which is owned by Indian giant Tata, said there would be no net job losses, but unions in the Midlands said they would oppose the plans.
SEVEN MEN HAVE BEEN ARRESTED in a series of raids as part of a continuing gun crackdown in Huyton by police. The men were arrested for various offences including breach of bail, and drugs offences, which saw drugs worth £20,000 being seized.
