GRAHAM Sankey – who once confessed to the attack on a Bulgarian waiter, for which Michael Shields was wrongly imprisoned, has been arrested over an alleged attack on Cllr Joe Anderson.
The Liverpool Labour leader, who led a campaign to free Shields, was driving home from the Everton match with his son on Saturday evening when, he claims, he was abused by two men before one attacked his car leaving two dents in the roof.

The Hidden Killer campaign, launched by the Health and Safety Executive, reveals 3,101 male deaths across the North West from the cancer. Mike Cross, HSE’s regional head of construction, said, “Asbestos is Britain’s biggest industrial killer and remains a very real threat to Merseyside workers.”
