EX-LIVERPOOL DJ KEV SEED WILL RETURN TO THE AIRWAVES as the host of Liverpool’s 107.6 Juice FM’s Sunday Breakfast Show later this month. The 41-year-old who lost his jod at Radio City after being convicted of drink driving, said: “There is something very special about broadcasting in Liverpool so to be back on air and waking up the city I love is going to be fantastic.”
A PORT OF LIVERPOOL ROAD SCHEME should be delayed to help fund the Merseytram network. Liverpool Labour leader Joe Anderson said putting the access improvement scheme on hold could pave the way for reviving the £400m Merseytram Line One from Liverpool to Kirkby.
Improving access to the port is a priority, but because plans are not imminent, Cllr Anderson believes that it should be delayed for Merseytram which is "ready to go".
PLANS ARE UNVEILED FOR £10M HOTEL and retail scheme to regenerate Liverpool’s “city centre gateway”. Property developer the Benmore Group says it plans to build a 122-bedroom hotel, car park and shops on a largely derelict site on Dale Street. Liverpool Vision chief executive, Jim Gill, welcomed the proposal saying, “Investment propositions like this – especially in the current climate – are very welcome.”
LIVERPOOL SCHOOLS ARE TO BE HIT WITH PENALTIES if they waste energy. The plans form part of a council expenditure review amid a predicted £15m cut in its overall education pot in 2014-2015 blamed on national budget deficits. The council will have to buy allowances from the government next year when it takes part in the Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme, to help cover its total carbon emissions.

Great to see Kev Seed is coming back to the Liverpool airwaves. Not that I'll be listening as I don't like Juice but I do like Kev Seed. A thoroughly nice chap that lives by me and drinks in my local.
