A TEENAGE CYCLIST HAS BEEN KILLED after being involved in a crash with a car in Woolton. The boy was travelling on his bike on High Street at the junction with Kings Drive when he was in a collision with a Renault Clio. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries. A spokesman for Merseyside Police said, "The driver stopped at the scene and is co-operating with officers."
A CANNABIS FARM HAS BEEN UNCOVERED by Merseyside Police in St Helens. Officers raided a warehouse on the Rainford industrial estate on Monday after a tip-off from members of the community. Described as “one of the biggest in the area”, police found over 1,500 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than £600,000.
A WIRRAL SCHOOL has won the chance to perform Grease in the West End. Wallasey School, in Leasowe, went through a “sing-off” and competed with over 500 schools in the televised competition. The lucky few chosen by judges to perform in the show, will star alongside the West End’s current Danny Zuko, Liverpool singer Ray Quinn.
NEW BUS LANE CAMERAS HAVE CAUGHT OVER 1,680 drivers in just three days. City council officials were shocked by the number of people caught breaking the rules since the cameras were activated on Monday, but those caught will escape the £60 fine as the council are issuing “dummy tickets” for the first few weeks. Surveys in the three initial sites identified up to 77 percent of motorists abusing the bus lane.
