Police notices:
A man is in a serious condition after being found with stab wounds in Bolton town centre. At about 12.40am on Wednesday 13 July 2011, police were called to Crown Street, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended and found that a 34-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his chest, neck and both of his legs. His condition is described as being serious but stable. A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in police custody.
Five people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Hyde. At about 7.30am on Sunday 14 August 2011, police were called to Talbot Road following reports a 20-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck. Following the attack, the victim phoned an ambulance as he went out into the street, where he was found and helped by a passer-by. Police officers attended and gave the man first aid until paramedics arrived. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Five men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody for questioning.

Good idea for a regular article. More so the applications than the police notices but maybe they're of interest to others.
Can you provide a laymans translation for some of these in future eg what is class A1 use? etc
