THE APPRENTICE runner-up, Ruth Badger is setting up shop in Piccadilly. The 29-year-old, known on the TV show as ‘the badger’, will open North West Money in mid September. She said: “Manchester is the place to be launching a new business. We won’t be a fly by night operation.”
AN INQUIRY into the murder of an11-year-old school boy last March is to be published by a panel of child experts. Joe Geeling was stabbed and beaten to death in his home in Bury by 14-year-old Michael Hamer. The review will examine whether there are any lessons to be learnt from his death. Hamer, was jailed for a minimum of 15 years.
A MOTHER from Flixton, whose daughter fell ill after eating organic baby food, has discovered that there was rust inside the lids of the two jars. Linda Hopkins noticed a brown layer of rust in the jar of HiPP Organic creamy rice pudding. She said: “It was only when I went to feed her hours later that I saw the dirt. Luckily Evelyn was fine but vulnerable newborn babies might not have recovered.” HiPP Organic spokesman said: “This is a totally isolated incident and we haven’t had any other complaints.”
CARLOS TEVEZ may miss the start of United’s season as the club eagerly awaits confirmation of the transfer from the Premier League. Tevez has been training with his new United team mates since it was agreed that United would pay West Ham £2m for the transfer to go ahead.
