A CHILD SLAVE has gone missing from care in Salford. Tuan Nguyen, aged between 11 and 14, was illegally brought to Britain where he was made to guard a drug farm in a Salford suburb before being rescued. Detective Inspector Mark Radford from Salford CID said: “I would urge anybody who has any information as to his whereabouts or background to call us and help us trace him and make sure he is getting the care he needs.”
MANCHESTER is a better city for business than Birmingham, according to a recent survey by property advisor Cushman & Wakefield. Over 200 companies took part in the survey which showed Manchester is also closing in on London, having proved itself as the top venue for new corporate headquarters and firms' back office functions.
PICCADILLY GARDENS is getting another garden. The new addition will only be seen from ‘key offices’ which overlook the gardens because it will in fact be situated on top of the Rice and Café Nero pavilion. The ‘living roof’ is being designed to attract more wildlife as part of the Council’s drive to make Manchester Britain’s greenest city. Work is due to start early next year.
OWEN HARGREAVES will not play in Manchester United’s league tie at Sporting Lisbon this week. The 26-year-old has not yet recovered from a thigh strain. The next game will however see Wayne Rooney making a return to the squad for the first time since fracturing his foot at the beginning of the season.

Birmingham is still a miserable place. It has no identity and lacks any kind of vibe. It's just somewhere you drive past to get to the north or south. They are only building skyscrapers so that they can then jump off them....
Enjoy it whilst it lasts folks, because Birmingham the UK's second city is about to overtake you once again in a big way! Take a trip down there in the next few months and you will see a huge construction boom as it builds vast amounts of new high quality office space, residential retail and leisure. Whilst all the proposals for skyscrapers in Manchester appear to be hype and hot air, Birmingham is quietly getting on with the job and actually building them! I take it as well you have not seen the latest advanced proposals for the outrageous 200m Vertical Theme Park in Birmingham, the tallest building in the UK outside London!? I don't think too many Brummies will be losing sleep about a temporary blip in a survey such as this - normal service will soon be resumed!
