A MOTHER who identified and cremated a man that she believed was her missing son has found out he is in fact alive. Gina Partington spent 40 minutes holding the dead man’s hand and saying an emotional goodbye. A day after the body was cremated, her missing son turned up in Nottingham. The bizarre case is currently being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of possessing the firearm which killed 12-year-old Kamilah Peniston. The arrest follows the jailing of the young girls mother and brother earlier this week. Reports suggest the arrest is in relation to the illegal gun that killed Kamilah. The schoolgirl was shot in the head at their Gorton home as her brother played with the gun which their mother had previously buried in the garden.
A CULL of over 100 American birds, which are feared to be facing extinction, has taken place in Wigan. The ruddy ducks, which usually migrate to Spain in winter, have settled on lakes controlled by Wigan Council. The cull was requested by the Spanish government. An appeal to stop the cull failed and hundreds of ruddy ducks have been shot since the cull was ordered.
A SPORTS MINISTER has condemned footballer’s salaries. Despite being a United fan himself, MP for Bradford South, Gerry Sutcliffe, has spoken out about what he describes as obscene ticket prices. Sutcliffe said that ordinary working people who want to go and see Manchester United are being priced out.
