£25,000 WORTH OF BIKE GEAR STOLEN: Motorcycle clothing and motorcycles have been stolen from a shop in Sale. Thieves took three motorbikes - an orange KTM 950, a blue Suzuki 600 GSXR and a silver Kawasaki 1000 ZX10 - worth a total of £12,000 from Ducati in Cross Street. Police have issued a photo of one of the jackets, worth about £600, in the hope people will recognise it and contact them.

GMP JOINS FUGITIVE HUNT: Police marksmen have reportedly been drafted in from Greater Manchester to help Northumbria Police in the hunt for fugitive gunman Raoul Moat. The former nightclub bouncer became Britain’s most wanted man after allegedly shooting his ex-partner, killing her new lover and shooting a police officer. The GMP team are among officers from across the country called in by Northumbria Police.

X FACTOR WANNABES will gather outside Manchester Central Convention Centre on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 July, as they wait to audition from the seventh series of the talent show.
