IRLAM RESIDENTS SPEND NIGHT AWAY FROM HOME: Residents from around 200 homes in the Irlam area were not able to return home last night after yesterday’s Salford gas explosion. 100 hotel rooms were provided for locals who couldn’t stay with friends or relatives elsewhere. Fifteen people were injured in the blast including an 82-year-old woman who remains in a critical but stable condition at Wythenshawe Hospital.

ROCHDALE HIT AND RUN UPDATE: Lee Bradley, 26, has been arrested on charges of attempted murder following the incident outside Dali Bar in Rochdale on 17 October. He is remaining in custody until interview. Fortunately, all those hurt in the crash have since been released from hospital with police saying they were amazed that nobody was killed.

CHILD TRAFFICKING CONFERENCE IN THE CITY: A daylong conference is taking place at the Manchester Town Hall today with 250 delegates gathering to raise awareness of child trafficking in the UK. The North West Child Trafficking Conference will feature international speakers from Bulgaria and The Netherlands sharing their experiences and information regarding the issue.

NOISE COMPLAINTS AT KAI ROONEY’S PARTY:Cheshire East Council has received several complaints regarding noise levels at Wayne Rooney’s Prestbury mansion on the night of his son’s first birthday party. The Rooneys have claimed that there were only 30 people at the event when the complaints were lodged and the party continued until 1am. A fine of £5000 could be issued, whilst the party is rumoured to have cost £90,000.

Out of the window weather forecast: No sign of yesterday’s down pour returning just yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
