TAKE THAT’S HOWARD’S SECRET LOVER: Howard Donald, 42, has lost a court battle to hide the story of his nine year affair with Adakini Ntuli from the press. He’d previously been granted two super-injunctions stopping the story going to press however lawyers and publicist Max Clifford have since become involved and the press are now allowed to cover the story. A prior injunction is still in place meaning that N’tuli is still not allowed to sell her story. Adakini Ntuli featured on Confidential back in February 2009 as the host of the ‘Pocketful of Soul’ weekly open mic night for unsigned soul singers at The Thirsty Scholar in Manchester.

A QUARTER OF GMP JOBS TO GO: Nearly 3,000 staff could lose their positions at Greater Manchester Police after meetings took place with 1,900 staff at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium yesterday. As police cannot legally be made redundant, it is likely that the decline in staff numbers will happen through natural wastage, a recruitment freeze and forced retirement.

VIOLENT LOUT JAILED: Mark Coulburn, 23, was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection after slashing a man’s throat with a knife. The victim required 120 stitches with the knife narrowly missing an artery. Police branded Coulburn a “violent lout” and “an extremely dangerous man” after the attack. Coulburn pleaded guilty to the charge of assault.

STOCKPORT GAS EXPLOSION: A 22-year-old man has suffered cuts and burns following a gas explosion at Rowan Court on Newbourne Close, Hazel Grove last night. Surrounding flats were evacuated with residents from six flats spending the night away from their homes. Police said that the gas supply has been isolated and the area is sealed off.

Out of the window weather forecast: Apparently November has no intentions of being kind to us. It’s still grey, cold and plain dull really.
