THE BODY of a mum has been found in a burning house in Rusholme. 47-year-old Emma Flynn was discovered lying on her bed in the attic room of her terrace house on Grandale Street with significant head injuries. Police say they are treating the incident as ‘unexplained.’Ms Flynn was found two doors down from the home of her own mother, Patricia Flynn. Grandale Street, off Wilmslow Road, remains closed to traffic.
A GUNMAN has been jailed for life for the murder of a man he shot dead at traffic lights in Wythenshawe. Robert Knott, who was found guilty by jury at Manchester Crown Court, killed 30-year-old Kevin Bond in September 2010. Knott, of Timperley, had blasted Bond with a shotgun after a confrontation.
A SIX-YEAR-OLD BOY has died from meningitis just hours after being sent home from Rochdale infirmary. Mohammed Akheel Khan was given antibiotics by hospital staff, who had initially suspected he had tonsillitis. Less than five hours later, Mohammed was taken back to hospital where he tragically later died.
MANCHESTER CITY FANS have filled nine coaches to Wembley compared to just one filled by United fans. National Express staff, who have been arranging the special services for the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, asked fans to state which club they supported as they reserved seats at the Chorlton Street bus station. Bosses were shocked when they were inundated with request from City fans, but received less than 50 from their Trafford rivals.
