CASTLEFIELD ARENA will show all the England World Cup Games. People will have to apply for wristbands to see them, and while there will be a bar on site, no alcohol will be allowed to be taken into the outdoor theatre area. Residents of Castlefield are allowed two wristbands per household. All the other World Cup matches will be shown on the screens but there will be no wristband requirement.

AFTER THE MOSS SIDE shooting in which two people were injured on Sunday, a third person has been arrested. The 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder in the West Midlands and remains in police custody. A 26-year-old man and 16-year-old boy, also arrested in the West Midlands, remain in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

RED MOSS NATURE PARK near Bolton has suffered extensive damage as a mini-bush fire swept through it. The historic moss area is up to 10,000 years old. Paul Duggan from the fire service said: "We are not sure how much damage has been caused to the wildlife but we think the fire has spread to about two square miles of the reserve.”

IT’S A PEERAGE for Helen Newlove. She’s been awarded this because of the campaign she’s led following the murder of her husband Garry, who was kicked to death by a gang of drunken youths in Warrington. Her goals for the Newlove Warrington Foundation have included visible policing, quicker 999 response times and more local police stations.

Do children need wristbands? I've read this event will be family friendly but as a Castlefield resident (I live next door to the arena with my hubby and child), I would have thought we'd all be able to go on residents tickets as we are all residents. Can someone explain if our little one will need a wristband?

"Conspiracy to commit murder in the West Midlands" is a rather odd charge for someone to be accused of in Manchester.

Simone: I think you're in my block. If so there's a notice pinned up. Get in touch.

J, thanks I've seen the notice downstairs. Hubby says we will not be taking the little one to England games there though. Will deffo give it a go for some others, depending on the weather. :-)
