A BBC PANORAMA investigation will reveal tonight that Manchester United's owners, the Glazer’s, are ‘£1.1bn in debt - £400m more than previously known - after borrowing extensively against their shopping mall business’. Banks have put 28 of their 64 shopping centres on a watch list, because they are concerned about the loans. Four shopping centres have already gone bankrupt.
A SCHEME TO CHALLENGE the unruly youngsters and offer them support is being rolled out across Manchester today. The scheme, which has been operating in north Manchester and Wythenshawe since April 2008, is now up and running throughout the whole of the city. Under the scheme, officers work closely with the neighbourhood policing team and the local community to identify youngsters who may be involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, anti social behaviour.
A 17-YEAR-OLD lad has died after falling from a flat during a party in Stockport. The boy fell from the top floor of Textilis House, off Wellington Street, in the town centre 50ft to his death. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) interviewed witnesses at the party but said that his death is not being treated as suspicious.
